It's that time of year again, time to start getting excited about the Salem Fair coming to the Salem Civic Center July 1st-12th. And, once again Macaroni Kid is offering a special contest and looking for the BEST MACARONI ART!

Date of MACARONI ART Contest: July 11th
Contest Entry Time: noon-3pm
Age Categories: Y1: Pre-K-2nd Grade and Y2: 3rd-5th Grade
Prizes: We will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for both age categories.
1st Prize for Y1 & Y2: Salem Art Center classes (valued at over $100)
2nd Prize Y1: Punch card for Playfitstayfit Roanoke's Gym for Kids
2nd Prize Y2: Bricks 4 Kidz week of summer camp and goodies (valued at over $100)
3rd Prize for Y1 and Y2: Green Ridge Rec Center/Splash Valley Passes

Contest rules and information:
- Macaroni Art must be made on a sturdy surface that won’t bend or break if handled or moved.
- Art can have a base no larger than 3’X3’. No glass will be permitted.
- You can use other items in the artwork but the macaroni is what will prominently be judged.
- Use your imagination! You can make any type of art or handicraft including sculpture, jewelry, etc.
- Feel free to color your macaroni but make sure that all paint and glue are dry before registering.
- Only 1 entry per person. Judges decisions are final. Pick up for Macaroni Art and prizes is on July 13th at exhibit check-out.
- Judging will be based on: Appearance, design, degree of difficulty, and creativity
