Matthew's Child Holiday Donation Tree Program

November 24, 2015
Matthew’s Child is a local not-for-profit 501(c)3 service organization developed to support the foster and adoptive community in the Roanoke Valley. We strive to support anyone affected by the foster system - from the biological families who are hurting; to the children, who are helpless victims of abuse and neglect; to the foster families in need of support for following the call to accept these children into their families.

We are looking for community members to help our Holiday Donation Tree program. In return for your one time or recurring financial donation to Matthew’s Child, you will be providing:
  • Survival Kits for children entering the foster care system
  • Much-needed training for foster families to better serve children in their care
  • Access to free clothing, car seats and other miscellaneous needs of foster and adoptive families
  • A facility for visitation between parents and their children who are in foster care
  • Care packages and date night child care for foster parents in need of a break
  • Community Events to benefit the foster and adoptive community

Many area businesses are already assisting wtih fundraising, donations and volunteering including: Andrew Henritze Dentistry, Wright Dental Associates, Blown Away Spray Tanning, Sunscape Apartments, TTAC @ Virginia Tech, Jefferson Surgical, Haran Baptist Church, Vistar, Rachel's Salon, Bang! It's a Hair Thing, Pure Spa, Once Upon A Child, Cobbler's Wife, Vinton Veteranary Hospital, Salon Del Sol, Valley Nephrology, Starbucks Towers, Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea (Starkey Location), and the Grandin Theater.  Stop by to pick up an envelope from their tree.
