Family Getaway to Dollywood's DreamMore Resort

June 28, 2016
My family and I were recently invited to stay at Dollywood's newest hotel, the DreamMore Resort. My kids love a good hotel stay almost as much as they love going to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood so we were pretty excited to see what all the buzz was about. Let me break it down into what I love and what my kids love about the DreamMore because there was a lot to love!

Friendliness
I know comparing to Disney may seem like a stretch but my absolute first impression of the DreamMore was that it was like being at Disney except in the mountains of Tennessee much closer to home. The resort is beautiful, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge but still only minutes away, and every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful and I think we got at least 3 fist bumps from staff members over the course of our stay. Truly one of the most family-friendly hotels we've stayed at in a very long time.

Little Extras
I'm a big fan of the "extras" you get when you stay places. Sometimes you feel like you're being nickled and dimed everywhere you turn and I was so impressed with the DreamMore's guest priviledges. Not only is there a free shuttle running about every 15 minutes to Splash Country and Dollywood, but that same shuttle takes you to a special guest entrance at Dollywood so you don't have to wait in line to get in. You also get Dollywood's Timesaver Pass at no additional charge. Seriously, door to door service and no waiting in line for the rides!

The DreamMore has several great options for dining and we opted for getting a pizza from the DM Pantry for a fun, poolside dinner. After we ordered we got one of those pagers that restaurants give out to let you know when your table or food is ready. Guess what? The pager worked throughout the entire resort. We were able to go back to our room, get our pool gear, head back down to the pool to find a table and let the kids start swimming and play cornhole, all while we waited for our pizza to be ready. (Which took about 20 min so pretty quick!). Little conviences to make our day easier and our stay more enjoyable.

Alright, so let's get down to the important stuff. What did our 11 and 8 year old think?

The Pool
My kids pretty much judge all hotels we stay at by the pool. The DreamMore has an indoor pool for year round use and an outdoor pool. My kids loved it. In fact, my 8 year old perfected his underwater backflip and my 11 year old perfected his underwater handstand during our stay. And they both perfected their cannonball.

I do have to mention the lifeguards. Several life guards were always on duty watching every corner of the pool. And, there were life jackets available for little ones.  Thank you, DreamMore!

The Bunk Beds
Yep, our room had bunk beds for the kids. Really comfy, well made bunk beds. The only problem was fighting over who got to sleep on top.

My husband and I wish we had more time to stay and will definitely be back. It was truly an unexpected escape from it all, but still close to Dollywood and everything Pigeon Forge has to offer. We really couldn't have asked for more.

I received a one-night stay and passes to Dollywood in exchange for this review. No other compensation was recieved and all opinions are my own.
