SLEEP. Make it a priority. Every night.
Teens are the highest risk age group for not getting enough sleep. While teens should get between 8-10 hours every night, this age group averages around 7 hours per night. What is one of the biggest reasons? Social media, phones, and electronics. It’s important to put these devices down and rest your body and brain. Teens experiencing lack of sleep are at risk for mood problems, depression, memory and learning difficulties, and poor grades. Start the year off right by getting your body on a sleep schedule so you can be your best all year long.

What’s wrong with Multitasking???
Did you know that more than half of teens admit they use social media and watch T.V. while doing their homework? Furthermore, 60% say they text during homework and 75% say they listen to music. Most teens think multitasking during homework does not affect their work but study after study shows that it does. In fact, recent studies done at Stanford show you simply cannot concentrate on two things at one time. What’s the moral of the story? There are certain times you have to put the devices away and homework is one of them! Take it a step further and put away the devices during mealtimes too so you can talk with and enjoy your family!
