Spectacular Saturdays at the Taubman Museum of Art create exciting, one-of-a-kind opportunities for you and your kids. Time spent as a family exploring the museum’s galleries and making your own artwork is always enjoyable and memorable. Courtesy of Advance Auto Parts, the museum offers free admission every day, including Spectacular Saturdays and all activities in Art Venture, the museum’s interactive, exploratory gallery for children and youth. Events begin at 10:00 a.m., continue until 5:00 p.m., and are sure to result in fantastic family fun.
The topic for this coming Saturday, July 12th is Discover Egyptian Objects. You will have the opportunity to create your own Egyptian jewelry, scarabs, and miniature headdresses. Find inspiration in the museum’s exhibit titled A Teachable Moment: Egyptian Objects from the Collection. Found in ancient Egyptian graves, these 35,000 year old figures are genuine artifacts from Egypt. This is a great opportunity to simultaneously expose your child to a foreign culture, ancient history, and creative art-making!
