Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat Comes to Life

Roanoke Children's Theatre Production

September 30, 2014
Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat will come to life, without any strife, on the Roanoke Children’s Theatre stage this fall. The area’s only professional theatre for young audiences, RCT is proud to bring the live version of this popular Dr. Seuss book to the Roanoke Valley. The Cat in the Hat will play from October 16 – 26, 2014 in the
Dumas Center (108 First Street NW).

Based on the book by Dr. Seuss and adapted by Katie Mitchell for The National Theatre (London), The Cat in the Hat tells the story of what happens when Mom is away and the children want to play! From the moment his hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother discover the Cat in the Hat brings the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas! But, when Thing One and Thing Two pop from his box, havoc ensues and the children wonder whatever to do!

“I’m very excited to kick off our Seventh Season with The Cat in the Hat,” says Roanoke Children’s Theatre Artistic Director Pat Wilhelms. “This beloved book and author have been delighting the masses for generations and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to take Roanoke on an amazing adventure.”
