Note from the Publisher ~ Wiggly Teeth

By Jamie Clark, MK Roanoke Publisher October 28, 2014
I learned something pretty interesting at the dentist this morning {Side Note: Do NOT under any circumstances schedule dentist appts for your kids on a Monday morning at 8am. What was I thinking?} Anyway, back to the dentist's office. So apparently my 7 year old doesn't like to brush his wiggly bottom tooth. What that translates to in 7 year old terms is that he's decided to boycott brushing his entire bottom row of teeth. What?!? How long has this been going on?!? The {very nice} dental hygienist looked at me like this was my fault. Huh?!? I stopped brushing my kids' teeth for them years ago and quite frankly have just left them to do it on their own. Was I wrong here? C'mon parents, back me up that you do not closely monitor your kids' teeth brushing. Right? {Please say I'm not alone here!}

I gave my 7 year old a couple of choices that he can a) start brushing his bottom teeth, wiggly one included or b) I am going to not so gently help that wiggly tooth fall out. He opted out for choice a. And, yes, because I don't want the dental hygienist being mean to be me again, I am going to at least stand in the doorway and watch to see that the bottom teeth do, in fact, get brushed. Sheesh.

Speaking of teeth, have a fab Halloween-filled fun week. Our calendar is packed with activities, trick-or-treat fun and even ideas on what to do with all that left-over candy!
