Roanoke Children's Theatre Auditions Jan 3rd

Calling all actors! Pat Wilhelms, Artistic Director for Roanoke Children’s Theatre, is pleased to announce auditions for the remaining two productions in the 2014-2015 Season. Auditions will take place on January 3, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Roanoke Children’s Theatre (in the Dumas Center - 108 First Street NW).

Auditions will be held for Eat: It’s Not About Food and Fancy Nancy and all ages are encouraged to apply as RCT will be casting Adult Equity & Non-Equity Actors and Youth Actors. Wilhelms loves that RCT features so many local youth actors “giving them all an opportunity to act on our stage with professional adult actors and a professional creative 

To audition, call (540) 400-7795 to schedule an appointment. Adult actors should prepare a 1 minute monologue and/or 16 bars of a song (if they sing). Youth actors should prepare a 1 minute memorized monologue or poem and/or 16 bars of a song (if they sing). Everyone should bring a headshot (or school picture), resume (or list of school plays/camps/classes taken) and sheet music in the correct key.

Eat: It’s Not About Food
(An RCT4TEENS Project)
February 26 – March 1, 2015
EAT dramatizes the dangerous and baffling world of eating disorders in girls and boys. Candidly exploring causes and warning signs, the play takes a hard look at the influences of society and the media on young people. A gutsy, arresting and daringly humorous play that leaves open the possibility of changing and perhaps saving lives.

Don your glamorous attire and join us for the most elegant musical of the year! Nancy and her pals are dancing in a school recital! But when Bree lands the role of shimmering mermaid while Nancy’s an ordinary tree, Nancy realizes that “fancy” takes a dash of imagination!
