Do you love reading to kids? Do you like to see your kid’s faces light up listening to a book? I am so excited to introduce Barefoot Books to Macaroni Kid! Barefoot Books is a children’s book publisher in Massachusetts and the UK. I am working with Barefoot Books as an independent book store to spread the word.
I love Barefoot Books because their products are imaginative, creative, artistic, and multi-cultural. They are developmentally appropriate and focus on teaching morals and values while promoting literacy. Two mothers started the company in 1993 after searching for great children books and activities. Their core values are imagine, explore, create, connect and give back – and those values resonate in their books, activities, and staff.
As a former elementary education teacher, I have a passion for children and literacy. I currently am a stay-at-home mom, fulfilling my dream of spending time educating my own 3 and 5 year old children. I am so excited about this opportunity to offer such great books and products to other families and children in the Roanoke and Smith Mountain Lake area.

If you are a teacher or homeschooler, the Barefoot Book website provides activities, lesson ideas, and discussion guides to coordinate with Barefoot Book products. Many of the books have CDs so you can listen to the books in the car or at home. Our favorite books are the sing-along DVDs like Animal Boogie or Shape Song – they are perfect to pop in the computer for the kids to enjoy while I am fixing dinner! Whatever you are looking for, these books and activities are great additions to your family or classroom library or to share with loved ones as gifts.
