Roanoke Parks & Rec: Summer Campin' in the City

Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to think about sending the kids campin’ in the city! When you sign the youngsters up for a Roanoke Parks and Recreation summer camp, they’ll explore, throw, kick, jump, paddle and play their way to a memorable and educationalsummer vacation.

Our top-notch staff has a wide array of day camps and full summer options for this season including camps for sports, swimming, outdoor recreation and full day experiences to keep the kids happy while parents work.

Just for kicks, our Eleven-One and Challenger soccer camps cater to all age groups. Introducing little ones to the game is our Challenger British soccer camp that hosts entry level training for youngsters as young as two years old and carry’s the instructional sessions all the way through high school. There are also sport camp options focusing on ruby, softball, lacrosse and disc golf.

To add some creativity to the summer, sign your child up for a creative camp. This season’s lineup includes camp options for art, theatre, sci-fi and even a camp focused around the ever popular Disney Frozen movie.

If adventure is what your kid seeks, check out an outdoor exploration camp. Starting at age eight and moving through age 17, the parks and recreation staff will lead children on a fun-filled summer of wilderness adventure including paddling, rock climbing, hiking and more.
