What's Up Roanoke Moms ~ Big Birthday Week in Our House

This is a big week in our house. My oldest is turning 10 and I am turning a whole new decade. {40 if you must know} and I'm not sure how I feel about it all. I was in the shower this morning and it dawned on me that I almost have a 5th grader. I remember from my teaching days that 5th graders are big and get a little smelly. My boy is already convinced he's going through puberty after a day of family-life education at school and now insists on wearing deodarent and wants to wash his face more so he doesn't get pimples. This, my dear friends, is a very new world for me. I mean, wasn't it just yesterday that he was calling me to wipe his bum? {Ok, it wasn't literally yesterday. But it sure feels like it.} 

So this milestone for him coupled with this birthday milestone for me is really throwing my world off balance. I am really trying to embrace it but those pesky wrinkles I see when I look in the mirror {I'm ordering Instantly Ageless as a bday present to myself} and the new odor seeping out of my son's room that prompted a trip to Target to buy Febreeze keep getting in the way. 

You know what would make me feel better? {Besides forgetting this whole 40 thing is really happening?} I'd LOVE for you all to join our new fb event page where we'll be sharing fun, family-friendly events all summer long.
