If your kids are already counting down the days until summer break, here’s one more thing to add to the calendar. Pete the Cat is coming to the Roanoke Valley this June as part of the Mill Mountain Theatre Young Audience Series with a fun, family-friendly musical that brings the popular book series to life in a way little ones will love.
The story follows Pete, the guitar-playing blue cat who sees every day as an adventure. When he meets Jimmy Biddle, a super organized second grader struggling to find inspiration for an art project during the last week of school, the two head off on an unforgettable journey together. Their adventure takes them all the way to Paris and back in a colorful VW Bus while teaching lessons about friendship, creativity, and believing in yourself along the way.
What makes this even better for local families is that the show is completely free and touring throughout the Roanoke Valley. Families can catch performances and interactive reading programs popping up at libraries, parks, and neighborhood venues all month long from June 1 through June 28.
