Antebellum Girls Camp
Presented by the History Museum of Western Virginia

The camp is for students in grades 1-6
Three Day Camp from 8:30-3:00
The Antebellum Girls Camp makes the past come alive in this three-day summer day camp. Participants will learn what life was like for a southern lady. Activities will include fan etiquette, sewing, dancing, painting, food preparation, and much more. This camp is limited to 25 participants. Camp includes daily snacks, equipment, and activities. Please bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.
Civil War Soldiers Camp
Presented by the History Museum of Western Virginia and O. Winston Link Museum
July 16th – July 18th
The camp is for students in grades 1-6
Three Day Camp from 8:30-3:00
In the museums Civil War Soldier Camp kids take a trip back in time with this three-day summer day camp. Campers will learn what life was like for a soldier during the Civil War. Activities will include drilling, craft projects, Civil War food, photography, nineteenth-century games, and much more. This camp is limited to 25 participants. Camp includes daily snacks, equipment, and activities. Please bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.
Archaeology Camp

The camp is for students in grades 1-6
Day Camp from 8:30-3:00
Campers will dig deeper into Virginia’s past and learn that it is not what you find, but what you find out. Learn excavation and cleaning techniques, work in a mock dig, and participate in variety of fun archeology related actives and crafts. This camp is limited to 15 participants. Camp includes daily snacks, equipment, and activities. Please bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.
Civil War Photography Camp
Presented by the History Museum of Western Virginia and O. Winston Link Museum
July 26th
This camp is for students in grades 6-12
This is a one day camp from 10am-12pm
This day camp held at Hanging Rock will expose participants to the world of Civil War photography. Participants will learn about Civil War Photography, the battle of Hanging Rock, the soldiers who fought there, and create their own Pin Hole Camera images. This camp is limited to 25 participants. Camp includes snacks, equipment, and activities. Please bring a water bottle.
Rates:
Antebellum Girls Camp or Civil War Soldier Camp: $100 for members, $125 for non-members
Archaeology Camp: $25 for members, $35 for non-members
Civil War Photography Camp: $15 for members, $20 for non-members
