Damsel in Defense was founded in 2011 by two mothers who wanted non-lethal personal protection. Appreciating safety just as much as a great accessory! They set out and formed a line of safe and sassy products from Stun Guns to Toddler Alarms. The products are demonstrated in home show settings, but can also be purchased online.
I discovered Damsel in Defense because I am a runner and typically I run on the Roanoke greenway, downtown and some of our well known trails. I was uncomfortable a time or two while I was alone, and felt the need to carry protection. I searched all over town for mace or something to make me feel more secure when I was alone or with my three children. After discovering Damsel in Defense, I ordered my first product and was excited to run with my cute purple pepper spray in tow! I loved it so much I wanted more because the products were practical and affordable.
My second favorite product is the HERmergency car kit called “Junk in the Trunk”. In case I break down I will have my own pink jumper cables! After a while I began noticing so many men and women out alone without protection. I realized this was my new calling and became a Damsel pro. My mission is to Equip, Empower and Educate tweens, teens, men and women on how they can protect themselves with our safe Personal Protection Products. A portion of every purchase you make goes towards local and national charities. Damsel is a proud supporter of RAINN, Wipeeverytear.org and Women’s and Children’s Alliance. I have personally chosen my Damsel Business to support our local Roanoke charity Save the Next Girl. My goal is to help reduce statistics and educate Women by encouraging them to feel empowered.
