Roanoke County’s outdoor aquatics facility, Splash Valley Water Park is ow open! Daily operation begins on Saturday, June 4.
Several new special events have been added to the calendar this season. On Friday, June 10 the park will be hosting School’s Out for the Summer Bash from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event will feature games, music, a rubber duck race for the first 100 kids, and prizes including free season passes. Every Thursday throughout the month of July, Splash Valley will be holding an event series called Thriller Thursdays. On Saturday, August 20 the public is invited to attend the first-ever Splash Valley Olympics, featuring family friendly competitions in honor of the Olympic Games. The park will be open until 9:00 PM on all event days, with themed activities, music, games and a food truck. Gate admission applies for all special events, which is $5 for all visitors after 4:00 PM.
This season the water park is also offering several weekly discounts:
- Making Memories Mondays – Ages 55 and older get in free with one paid youth admission.
- Family Tuesdays – Families of 4 to 8 individuals per household get in for a flat $25 admission.
- $6 Wednesdays – Individual admissions are only $6 all day long regardless of age or residency.
Parks, Recreation and Tourism director Doug Blount says he’s excited about the water park’s seventh season. “The opening of Splash Valley signals the beginning of summertime fun in Roanoke County. We’re proud of what’s been accomplished here in creating a destination aquatics facility, and we encourage our residents to come out and cool off in the pool with us!”
A limited number of 2016 Season Passes are still available, although 60% of this year’s allotment has already been purchased. The final day to purchase any remaining passes will be June 30. Reservations are also being taken for birthday parties, group visitation and after hours facility rentals.
