We love having your kids swim with us at Aquatic Adventures and we know you are excited to give your child the lifesaving skills swimming
lessons provide, but did you know all the other scientific benefits, swimming lessons provide?
1. Better Brain Development: Multiple studies have shown that the increased tactile stimulation provided by water (600-700 times air) accelerates the neurological development of babies, toddlers and young children.
2. Advanced Cognitive Development:  A four year study at Griffith University, in Australia the, Early Years  Swimming Research Project, included 7000 children and found children under 5, who had consistent swim lessons were more advanced in their physical AND cognitive development, showed advanced social and  language development and had statistically higher IQâs.
3. Increased Memory and Learning Potential:  The neurons in our Hippocampus (the area in our brain  associated with memory) are increased through exercise and swimming is a great form of exercise!
4. Improved Physical and Emotional Development:  Studies done at the German Sports College Cologne found that children who swam consistently from infancy (3 months) were significantly stronger when tested at 2, 3 and 4 years. These children also scored higher in intelligence and problem solving, were more self disciplined and had higher self esteem.
5. Increased Confidence and Social Skills:  Conclusions from both the Australia and German studies, along  with several other studies, found that in addition to all these benefits, children who swam consistently  showed more confidence, independence and comfort in social situations.
I canât think of any better reasons to start and keep kids in swim lessons. As a mother of four, swimming was  the #1 activity for my children until they could swim to my standards ( a 100 I.M. in a swim meet). I can  certainly say, my children have had life long benefits from learning to swim early!
