The Omni Orlando Resort is a Vacation From Your Vacation

By Jamie Clark, Baseball Mom, Over Packer and Publisher Macaroni Kid Roanoke May 31, 2018

What do you think of when hear someone is heading with the family to Orlando? You assume they are going to Disney, right? And you very well might be right. A Disney vacation is something all kids (and parents) get excited about. But I have to tell you, for me, going to Disney isn't a vacation. Don't get me wrong, we love Disney and it's a few of the best days you can spend as a family. But, to me, a "vacation" is time spent relaxing by the pool, sleeping in, floating down a lazy river and generally not spending time waiting in line with tons of strangers for rides with kids that are hot and tired. I've good news for you. There is a way to do both and the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate is the answer.

A stay at the Omni Orlando is an absolute must if you plan on spending time at Disney or other Orlando theme parks but also want to enjoy a vacation away from all the craziness. I spent 3 days at the Omni Orlando and have to tell you that I had no idea that Disney was only 6 miles away

Insider tip: There is a complimentary shuttle to Walt Disney World® Theme Parks from the Omni Orlando

Once you get to the Omni Orlando Resort your kids won't want to leave. This summer the Omni Orlando has 101 Days of Summer Fun. They have weekly fireworks, dive-in movies and a really cool Kids Passport Challenge. There may not be Mickey walking around but I promise you there is more than enough to keep kids of all ages entertained for days!

Insider tip: Kids receive a backpack full of goodies upon arrival and they get milk and cookies delivered to their room on the first night of their stay.

One of the things that really impressed me with the Omni Orlando is that it's as close to a water park as you can get without actually going to a water park. Lazy River. Check. Wave Pool. Check. Water slides. Check. Kids' pool and water slides for the littlest. Check. Hours and hours of entertainment for the whole family. Check and check.

Insider tip: Renting a private cabana is 100% worth it to have a spot to relax with the kiddos. You'll appreciate the shade and privacy and your kiddos will appreciate the TV, wifi and mini fridge.

I saved the best for last. Because after all the excitement of Orlando theme parks and all the fun that the Omni Orlando has for families, I know you need a break from it all. And by that, I mean a little time away from your kids!  The Camp Omni Kids Escape is the answer. You can drop the kids off in the evening and enjoy a nice, quiet dinner with your spouse. That is always the hardest part of traveling with your kids. It's so hard to get away for a nice dinner and I love that Omni Orlando has you covered and makes it easy to do.

Insider tip: Trade-off "parent duty" with your spouse so you can get away to the Mokara Spa for a signature massage and then he can get away for a round of golf

Instead of returning home from Orlando tired and worn out after days at theme parks, you will return home rested and relaxed and so happy you chose to stay at the Omni Orlando. Truly the best of both worlds in Orlando. The magic of theme parks and the magic of a resort where you don't want or need to leave.
