Meet Ellen Cleveland, owner of LFA Kids Consignment Event
Who or what inspired you to start your business?
I was a stay at home mom that had walked away from a full-time job. While I loved being home with my girls, I felt a void…I wanted to use my passions, creativity, and ideas to make money to help support my family.
What has having your own business meant to your family? (the good, the bad, the ugly)
It has meant family vacations that not have been taken, high-end clothing for my kids, home improvement projects. The photo in this article is from a Cruise Ellen went on with her daughters!
It has also meant, for months out of the year I am distracted, we eat out a lot, I’m not as attentive, and my house and laundry are a hot mess.
If you had to choose one strength that you possess that has helped you be the most successful- what would it be and why?
Determination: I have a relentless drive for success that is fueled by my passion for extra money!
What are you passionate about?
My reputation- If I’m going to devote my time to something, that I give it my all.
What piece of advice would you give yourself if you were just starting your business again today?
Know that there will be many days that you question your decision to work for yourself. Always sleep on decisions that may take you in a direction you’re not comfortable with.
In what ways can your business help another mom?
By consigning your children's clothes at the LFA Consignment event, our families earn top dollar on their gently used kids’ items. We have several families who sell as much as they spend, making it a huge budget saver.
What has been your favorite local resource to support you in your business?
My LFA TEAM TRIBE. My core group of ladies that I couldn’t do this without. They help me stay current, offer up ideas to make things better, and are my idea sounding board.
