Raise your hand if you love Halloween! I hope your hand is up because I'm going to share some fun and easy no-carve ways to turn your pumpkins into amazing masterpieces. You'll be the envy of the neighborhood when you display these pumpkins outside of your house.
Your kids will also be able to help with all of these ideas I'm sharing. There are no sharp knives or messy goop to clean up! You'll have a different kind of mess (read my tip below) but that's ok! Your kids will have a blast showing off their creativity and putting their personal stamp on their pumpkins.
Take a look and then read below for some tips!
DECORATING TIPS:
- Be sure to glue the crayons onto the pumpkin. I know this because I tried it without doing that and the hairdryer quickly blew the crayons off. Oops!
- I recommend doing the Melted Crayon Pumpkin outdoors or make sure you have a lot of room to make a mess. It's a bit messier than I anticipated and the crayon splattered everywhere.
- You'll also want to use a pretty strong adhesive. Good ole' white Elmer's Glue wasn't quite strong to hold the crayons in place or the googly eyes. A hot glue gun or another similar strong adhesive is probably best.
- Teachable moment tip: You can talk to your kids about the colors that form from the melting crayons as they drip together on the pumpkin.
