Moms and their partners are invited to the Southwest Virginia Mom Expo for a day of connection, education and empowerment.

Moms and their partners are invited to the Southwest Virginia Mom Expo for a day of connection, education and empowerment on July 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. at the South County Library.    The event, hosted by Macaroni Kid Roanoke and the Physical Activity Research & Community Implementation (PARCI) Lab at Virginia Tech is a result of conversations with local moms at free Pregnant Yoga classes that Abby Steketee, PhD student, has been offering this year as part of her work at the PARCI lab.

Per Abby, “Mom Expo is all about community connection and supporting each other through the challenges of being a mother.  We're aiming to connect local parents to local resources and empower attendees to make decisions that fit their personal needs, beliefs, and families.  This is a one-of-a-kind, "feel good," educational event!"

Attendees at this conference style event will have an opportunity to engage in discussions such as “Mommy Brain”, “Pain Coping for Labor” , “Music Through Labor and the Early Years”, “Self-Advocacy” and “Swim Safety” and dozens more.

The event features 15 educators in a variety of health, wellness, and child safety fields.  Including:
