Parmesan Stuffed Burgers

Bring the Yum! Even my kids eat these!

I am always looking for a fast and easy recipe to make for my family of 5. We are constantly running here and there and having a go-to recipe is so convenient! As soon as the weather started turning warm last year I was in search of a super yummy new burger recipe to "spice" up our burger nights. I ended up playing around with what we had in the kitchen and came up with my own recipe.

Since I was a little girl, my dad invested in locally sourced meat and bought half a beef cow yearly for our family. Once I had a family of my own, we started splitting a whole beef with my parents. This fills our freezer for the year and it is so much better for you!

We are typically pretty plain when it comes to burger night. We patty out the burgers and either use salt and pepper or some type of seasoning to sprinkle on. This time, I decided to make stuffed burgers with some type of cheese. At the time, I only had grated Parmesan in my refrigerator. So, we got to work and made them with what we had. They were delicious! We added a sriracha sauce on top because that's what we had in our fridge and "my oh my", were they yummy!

Here's the recipe:

1. Get your Ground Beef ready by placing it in a bowl. We typically use 2 lbs of ground beef for our family of 5. It leaves us a couple burgers for leftover lunch the next day.   Put the beef into the bowl and add any seasoning you might like, working it through with your hands or a fork. Some folks like straight salt and pepper, but others use spicy seasonings. We like the Weber Gourmet Burger Seasoning.

2. As you begin to patty out your burgers, make a thin burger and place a good amount of Parmesan cheese on top, then make another thin burger and place it on top. Squeeze and work it all together so it becomes one good size burger. I have tried other methods where you make a hole in the center and where you stuff it in with your fingers, but making two separate thin burgers and putting the cheese in the middle, really seems to spread it all over the burger rather than just a portion of it.

3. Grill outside or saute your burgers to your liking, whether it's Medium rare to Well done. We all like ours cooked a little different in my family. When the burgers are about 3 minutes from being done, we top with a little more Parmesan on top. Yum!

4. Some options we add if we have the ingredients are: sriracha sauce, grilled onions, grilled banana peppers, or grilled pineapple. Oh my!

5. Assemble your burger with all the fix-ins you desire and Enjoy!

Let us know if you try these burgers and what you topped them with to make them extra yummy!  We love the fact that burgers can be changed up so many ways!
