Local Colors is BACK in 2021 and we're celebrating our 30th year with an awesome new offering: the CULTURAL PURSUIT scavenger hunt played on the Goose Chase mobile app!
Ever wanted to explore cool cultural spots around Roanoke, sing another country's national anthem on video, or answer trivia about places from Laos to Latvia? Be sure to register for Cultural Pursuit! There will be prizes for the quickest team/person to complete all the missions as well as a separate award for the most EXTRA enthusiasm.

Join as a team or individual to compete for prizes while learning about and experiencing different cultures through tasks, trivia, and GPS check-ins. The scavenger hunt will take place from May 1st to 15th to lead us up to our in-person festival on Saturday, May 15th!
Whether you want to win prizes, get amped for our May 15th festival, or just enjoy some cultural activities without the crowds, Cultural Pursuit is a perfect way to enjoy two whole weeks of Local Colors!
TO REGISTER:
1: Download the Goose Chase mobile app onto your device (available on Android and Apple)
2: Either enter the game code PEPMGE or search for CULTURAL PURSUIT and select the game with the Local Colors logo
3: Enter the game password: pearl
4: Name your team and participate by yourself or with up to 7 other teammates (tell them your team name and have them join your team after following steps 1-3).

The scavenger hunt will end on 11:59 pm on May 15th!
It's totally free to participate!
You can register as a team of up to 8, or play as an individual
The game runs from May 1-15, but you can start any day in that timeframe and complete tasks whenever you feel like it!
Tasks include GPS check-ins, trivia, and activities to document by photo or short video
Most tasks will be released on May 1, but there will be a few pop-up missions over the course of the game
Prizes include gift certificates to local favorite FarmBurguesa, the delicious Hibachi Express, and Photo USA! We also have some cultural book packs from our friends at Roanoke Public Libraries, and a beautiful Zulu headband and a Zulu lesson with a native speaker courtesy Daryn J. Warner
We'll have prizes for the team/person who finishes all the missions first as well as a prizes for the team with the most EXTRA enthusiasm & creativity
