Oh, pizza. How we love you. Let us count the ways: Pizza makes dinner a breeze on the nights when cooking is just not gonna happen. No one in the family ever complains about pizza night, and pizza is DELICIOUS.
Pass me another slice, please.
We are lucky we have a lot of locally-owned great pizza shops in the Roanoke Valley to satisfy any and all pizza cravings. Here are our 5 favorite locally-owned spots for pizza in Roanoke, Virginia.
1951 Electric Road
Salem, VA 24153
My son introduced me to Papa's Pizza 2 years ago, after stopping there many times with friends traveling between BCAT and Hidden Valley High School. This pizza and the hospitality is AUTHENTIC Italian. The owner, Vinny, is almost always on site and is the the best to chat with about what is tasty and for supreme service.
What we love: All of the pizza is delicious, as well as the generous salads. Our family loves the Tuscany pizza and our office loves Vinny's Grandma, a cold Bruschetta pizza.
120 Campbell Ave, SE
Roanoke, VA 24011
What we love: Benny's is the home of the Virginia Slice! These monstrous slices of pizza can be bought by the slice or a 36" Pizza. We love that they have a foldable, NY Style, crust.
Grace's Place Pizzeria
1316 Grandin Rd SW
Roanoke, VA 24015
What we love: Grace's Place is in the heart of Grandin Village. We love the salad bar and the friendly staff.
Frank's Pizza Salem
14 East Main Street
Salem, Virginia 24153
What we love: The garlic knots are heavenly and they have great outdoor seating on quaint Main Street, Salem.
New York Pizza
708 Hardy Rd
Vinton, VA 24179
What we love: I grew up going to New York Pizza with my family. It was always so fun to play the arcade games and the jukebox. The stuffed Italian Pie is so delicious! MMM, now I'm craving this. They also have great subs and desserts.
We asked other Roanoke families to share their favorite Pizza Places. Top mentions were:
Bobby's Hot and Cheesy - Where you can also get Bubble cake cupcakes
We'll add these officially, once we can visit!
