Planned Parenthood South Atlantic is excited to be offering new virtual programs for families and teens this January in English and Spanish!
The Teen Connections program uses the evidence-based curriculum "Get Real" (for youth middle & high school age). A curriculum designed to educate youth on anatomy, puberty, healthy relationships, consent and delaying sex (through Social Emotional Skill building). This curriculum not only empowers youth to make positive choices, "Get Real" also recognises parents as the primary sexuality educators and supports them in this role through family activities for each session.
Through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and another fully funded program year, every student will receive a $100 stipend in the form of a visa gift card (as well as, $40 in food stipends & additional treats), upon completion of the program.
The program starts this Friday , January 4th from 5-7:00 PM. Register Here! This program will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 5:00-7:00PM through the first week of March, with a required pre-session on Friday, January 4th from 5-7PM for all participants.
Seamos Honestos is a program in Spanish for parents, guardians, and caring adults who want to build their skills in order to have open and honest conversations with young people on challenging topics such as puberty, health, relationships, and sexuality. Seamos Honestos es una oportunidad para padres, guaridanes y adultos confiables que desean desarrollar sus habilidades para tener conversaciones abiertas y honestas con los jóvenes sobre temas desafiantes como la pubertad, la salud, las relaciones y la sexualidad. Los participantes se reunirán semanalmente los lunes por la noche de 6:30-8PM en Zoom empezando el 17 de enero.
