Goodbye Party at Washington Park Pool

Celebrate 50 years of Swimming Fun and Help Shape the Future of Washington Park!

By Beth Bell, Publisher August 4, 2022

The Washington park pool will be closing on August 14th, after 50 years of community impact.  Join P.L.A.Y. Roanoke for a Goodbye Pool Party on August 14th, from 1-4 p.m.  As part of Star City Safe, you can swim and enjoy giveaways, entertainment, and refreshments, for only $1!

When the Washington Park Pool closes for the season mid-August, a renovation project will begin shortly after to make way for a brand new pool facility. The current facility will be removed to make way for a brand-new pool in it’s place.   Citizens can take a survey to influence the design process.  Take this opportunity to share whats most important for you and your family.  Would you like a swimming facility with splash pads, slides or a lazy river?  I've always loved a lazy river and definitley think Roanoke could use a splash pad!

You'll also get to weigh in on seating options and concessions when you take the survey here. Parks and Recreation staff will also be available throughout to assist attendees completing a public survey to be used in planning the new facility.
