Summer Camps and Programs Spotlight: Virginia Museum of Transportation

May 7, 2023

The Virginia Museum of Transportation is offering several fun programs and events for families and kids in Roanoke, Virginia this summer!

Summer Camp

The Coast to Coast Camp for K-2nd Grades, will be held July 24-28 from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

VMT summer camp is for children who love trains, cars and airplanes! Museum educators will use VMT's extensive collection as a springboard for activities that give children "climb aboard" opportunities for fun-filled learning.

Your camper will become a coast to coast traveler and explore all things transportation. Campers will move, explore and participate in hands-on

activities based on different stops across the United States.

At VMT, we know that children love to move, so we have made sure our daily schedules are full of outside, hands-on experiences. As children enjoy their lunch (brought from home) in our picnic area, they will get to watch REAL trains rumble past the Norfolk Southern tracks.  Crafts and STEAM-related activities will be woven into each days.
