The Grandin Theatre is a local gem that we've been lucky to have in Roanoke, Virginia for over 90 years! There is always a movie or two showing good for a date night, girls night out, family fun, or to take the kids to. My young adult sons and I enjoyed an outing last weekend to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (yes, we cried a few times!). There's something so easy and familiar about movies at the Grandin Theatre. There's plenty of parking in the lot behind the Grandin Co+Op (between Westover and Memorial) or on the street nearby. Drinks and snacks are bit more affordable than larger theatres, and they offer local beer and wine.
In addition to movies, The Grandin hosts concerts, community collaborations like Hoot & Holler storytelling programs, The Film Lab, and documentaries that align with current events. For example, March brought us free weekly documentary to celebrate Women's History Month and June brings a free weekly movie in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month. The theatre can also be rented out for birthday parties and other special events.
