Roanoke, VA — Mill Mountain Theatre (MMT) is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated 2025 season, featuring an exciting lineup of timeless musicals, heartwarming plays, enchanting family shows, and engaging concerts. Building on the success of recent seasons, MMT continues its commitment to delivering unforgettable performances that celebrate the art of storytelling and bring the Roanoke community together. Trinkle MainStage & Waldron Stage Productions Waitress, The Musical - Kicking off the season from March 12-30, this heartfelt and comedic story follows Jenna, an expert pie-maker who dreams of leaving her small town and broken marriage. With a baking contest and the town's new doctor offering her a fresh start, Jenna finds the courage to reclaim her own life. Featuring a soul- stirring score by Sara Bareilles, Waitress reminds us all to savor life’s sweetness and pursue our dreams.

Million Dollar Quartet - By popular demand from September 17-October 12, MMT brings back this electrifying, high-energy musical inspired by the famous 1956 recording session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Featuring chart-topping hits like "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Great Balls of Fire," Million Dollar Quartet takes audiences back to a night that made rock ‘n’ roll history.

A Christmas Story – Holiday nostalgia shines with MMT’s Holiday Tradition from November 28-December 21 as we join young Ralphie Parker on his quest for the perfect Christmas gift—a Red Ryder BB gun. With warmth and humor, A Christmas Story captures the holiday magic that delights families year after year, reminding audiences of the joy and challenges of family traditions.

Dissonance - As part of our Fringe Series from February 6-9, Dissonance is a 90-minute two-person play about race, love, and friendship. Angela, a Black woman, and Lauren, a White woman, have been friends for 20 years. They met in graduate school, became godmothers to each other’s children, and most recently, started a new business, but they have never had a candid conversation about race . . . until now. On the heels of George Floyd’s murder and the summer of 2020, these women allow themselves to have the hard conversation and become closer than ever as a result of it.

The Hits of the 1960s – As part of MMT’s Concert Series from May 30-31, journey back in time to the swinging '60s! This groovy concert celebrates the music that defined a generation, with iconic hits from legendary artists that will have audiences singing and dancing along.

Family and Youth Theatre Productions

Peter and the Starcatcher - This imaginative prequel to Peter Pan tells the origin  story of the Boy Who Never Grew Up from April 23-May 4. Full of pirates, adventure, and magic, Peter and the Starcatcher takes audiences on a whimsical journey as young Peter learns about friendship, bravery, and the power of belief.


Shrek, The Musical (TYA) - Join everyone’s favorite green ogre in this family-friendly musical based on the beloved animated film which will be performing on the Trinkle MainStage from July 30-August 10. With humor, heart, and a cast of unforgettable characters, Shrek, The Musical reminds us all that we can find love and acceptance when we embrace our true selves.

The Rainbow Fish - This enchanting tale comes to life with vibrant storytelling and captivating visuals from July 9-August 3. Follow the Rainbow Fish as it learns the importance of friendship and kindness in a heartwarming underwater adventure.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, The Musical - Based on the popular children’s book, this musical brings Mo Willems’ beloved pigeon character to life in a lively and hilarious show designed to engage young audiences from October 6-November 3.

Summer Camps

Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. - Dive into this under-the-sea adventure as Ariel, a young mermaid, dreams of life on land from July 20-21. Filled with beloved songs and dazzling characters, The Little Mermaid Jr. brings Disney magic to the stage in a way that will thrill audiences of all ages.

Disney's The Aristocats Kids - Meet Duchess, her kittens, and the alley cats who join forces to save their home in this charming musical based on the classic animated film. 

The Aristocats Kids is a purr-fect choice for young audiences, blending music and comedy in a delightful family-friendly production from July 11-12.
