At the Y, every camp is built around discovery and a little summer magic. Kids splash into outdoor adventures, uncover hidden talents, try new activities and create friendships that stick long after camp ends.
We also know summer schedules can be busy and unpredictable. Families have the flexibility to register for the full 9 to 11 week season or choose only the weeks that fit their plans, whether that is one week, three weeks, or anywhere in between. This allows parents to travel or manage other commitments without paying for weeks their child will miss.
To make summer even easier, optional swim lesson add-ons are available during the camp day at the Kirk Family YMCA, Botetourt Family YMCA, and Salem Family YMCA locations. By building lessons into the camp schedule, families can skip the extra evening or weekend trips while ensuring their child continues developing important water safety skills.
Families can choose from 5 locations, including Camp Kirk, Camp Salem, Camp BoCo, Camp Rockbridge, Beacon’s Camp for middle schoolers, and Cooking Camp at Gainsboro.
Camp Kirk, Camp Salem, and Camp BoCo offer full-day and half-day programs for children ages 5 to 12. Camp Salem and Camp Kirk also provide half-day Kinder Camp for potty-trained children ages 3 through rising kindergarten.
