Here at The Peaks, we are committed to providing transformative educational and adventure experiences for learners of all ages. Our passion for education and stewardship of the land drives us to create customized programs that help individuals challenge their comfort zones, while discovering the beauty of the outdoors. On-site, the center features 8,500 square feet of indoor event space, a 1,000 square foot caterer’s kitchen, and on-site lodging for up to 80 guests. Amenities include an outdoor stage, amphitheater, hiking trails, 9-hole disc golf course, zip-line, climbing-wall, low ropes course, swimming pool, pond, sand volleyball court, basketball court and multiple large open fields. Bedford Outdoor Adventures Camp: Calling all middle schoolers! Embark on the ultimate summer adventure with Bedford Outdoor Adventures Camp, designed to ignite the spirit of exploration and cultivate a love of the great outdoors. Nestled in the heart of nature, our camp offers a diverse range of activities that promise an unforgettable summer experience. Each day of camp will bring a different adventure, from learning survival skills to trying out The Peaks adventure activities like ziplining, climbing wall, ropes course, and canoeing to taking a daily dip in the pool. Cap out the end of the week with an overnight campout on Thursday night and family cookout (open to all camper family members) at 4 pm on Friday. The camp will meet daily June 3-7, from 8:30 am–5:30 pm at The Peaks Retreat and Adventure Center in Thaxton. There will be bus transport for up to 16 campers from Falling Creek Park in Bedford – pickup at 8:00 am, and drop off at 6:00 pm.
