How can you help change the future for women in business? Being a Mom makes being an entrepreneur even more challenging. We would love for you to bring your perspective and challenges to this interactive workshop with FemCity Roanoke.
FemCity Roanoke and CoLab Roanoke are partnering to offer a series of inclusive entrepreneurship workshops for women beginning on May 23rd at 5:30 p.m at CoLab Roanoke. The first in the series is an interactive, human-centered design thinking workshop, led by Innovation agent, Samantha Steidle, and President of FemCity Roanoke, Beth Bell.
Using the process and tools developed by IDEO.org, this workshop will introduce participants to human-centered design in social innovation. The workshop will focus on solving challenges faced by female entrepreneurs and other women in business. Participants will be able to apply the same methodology to their own customer discovery process to strengthen their product and services.
Inclusive entrepreneurship communities help level the playing field for underrepresented minorities such as people of color and women by:
- Closing the gap in opportunities to start, sustain and scale a business.
- Creating partnerships with community partners to provide business resources and networks.
- Developing ecosystems to develop more startup opportunities which in turn create jobs.
